Water/Wastewater Projects

MAAK has designed and implemented many water/wastewater systems. Some of these projects are described below:

Matura Water Treatment Plant (WTP)

MAAK Technologies is part of a design/build team to develop the new Matura Water Plant. The plant will treat raw water from the Matura River in the eastern part of Trinidad. View project sheet

Navet Distribution Network

MAAK Technologies provided detailed design engineering for the upgrades of the distribution systems that are connected to the Navet Trunk Main. View project sheet

Navet Trunk Main Replacement

MAAK Technologies determined the most feasible route for the replacement of the Navet Trunk Main, and produced preliminary designs and tender documents for a design/build contract. View project sheet

City of Toronto Process Control System (PCS)

MAAK designed and implemented a new Process Control System (PCS) for a large municipal Water Transmission System. View project sheet

Transmission Operations Optimizer Study

The current operations provide the water delivery/service requirements in a cost effective and uninterrupted manner. However, the complexity of the water system presents potential opportunities for optimizing operations. View project sheet

Remote Access Control (RAC)

MAAK provided remote access to the in-plant SCADA systems at the treatment facilities. View project sheet

Orillia Water Filtration Plant (WFP) Upgrade

MAAK carried out preliminary and detailed design as well contract administration for upgrades to the control system for a water filtration plant (WFP). View project sheet

Casino Rama Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)

MAAK designed and supplied the automation/SCADA system for a sewage treatment plant serving a First Nation community located northeast of Orillia, Ontario. View project sheet

Casino Rama Water Treatment Plant (WTP)

MAAK carried out preliminary and detailed design as well contract administration for upgrades to the control system for a water treatment plant (WTP), serving a First Nation community located northeast of Orillia, Ontario. The project was concerned with plant expansion and a complete upgrade of the Instrumentation, Control and SCADA system of the entire plant. View project sheet

Region of York North Wastewater Upgrades

MAAK designed and supplied automation/SCADA systems for five sewage pumping stations for a large regional municipality. The upgrades included the fabrication and installation of new control panels, a local operator interface terminal (OIT) and integration with the existing SCADA system, including all software development. Trinidad and Tobago Operation Control Centres

MAAK carried out the design of a SCADA system for the entire water system. The SCADA system, initially designed for approximately 120 remote nodes (water supply and transmission), will have the capability to include over 600 nodes ultimately. View project sheet

Courland Water Treatment Plant (WTP)

MAAK designed and supplied the automation system for the water plant on the island of Tobago. The plant consists of Raw Water Intake Pumps, Flocculation Tanks, Clarifiers, Filters, Clear Well, Plant Discharge Pumps, and various Chemical Systems. View project sheet

Hamilton-Wentworth 6B Pumping Station

MAAK designed and developed software for the large water pumping station. The automation system includes significant advances in pumping system control. The facility is unmanned, with operation and control integrated into the overall Regional SCADA System. View project sheet

Lake Simcoe Water Pollution Control Plant (WPCP)

MAAK designed and developed the software for the automation system for a water pollution control plant with a design flow of 4,500 m3/d. View project sheet

Conlin Road Pumping Station

MAAK carried out preliminary and detailed design as well contract administration for the automation system for a pumping station. The Conlin Road station is a wet well/dry well configuration sanitary sewage pumping station. View project sheet
